This phone case features an American Airlines Bag Sticker from the mid 1950's promoting their new Mercury Service which was new nonstop transcontinental air service aboard all new DC-7s.

American initially configured its DC-7s in an all first-class layout seating 65 passengers and accommodating a 'Sky Lounge' in the rear cabin. This was called the "Mercury" and American advertised the flights and aircraft heavily as such. Mercury seating was four abreast. By the end of 1954 AA was offering 3 daily non-stops to Los Angeles with DC-7s as well as additional service to Tulsa, Dallas, Fort Worth, Chicago, Detroit and San Francisco. Boston followed in early 1955.
