This restored design is based on Albert Solon's 1938 poster for the Paris–Rome air service of Air France and Ala Littoria. Ancient columns stand tall against a glowing orange-yellow sky while an airliner speeds overhead, linking the two capitals in a single image. Solon (1897–1973) was a French poster artist, and the original was printed in France. Ala Littoria was Italy's national airline from 1934 until the end of the Second World War, formed by merging four Italian carriers, and flew across Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa.
