A four-engine Boeing Stratoliner flies over a cloud carrying the round TWA Transcontinental logo, on a deep blue roundel lettered Route of the Stratoliners and Shortest Fastest Coast-to-Coast. Transcontinental and Western Air received its first Boeing 307 Stratoliner on 6 May 1940 and began coast-to-coast flights with it on 8 July 1940. Its pressurized cabin let it fly above much of the weather, a big step for passenger comfort. Stickers like this were given out for travelers' luggage.
