David Klein's Portugal poster from around 1958–60 is set in Lisbon's Belém district: in the foreground looms one of the hippocampus statues — half horse, half fish — of the Praça do Império, and behind it rise the white towers of the Jerónimos Monastery, founded in 1495 and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. "PORTUGAL" runs across the top in tall yellow-green letters with a red "Fly TWA." Klein (1918–2005) created TWA's signature destination series.
