David Klein's 1960s Portugal poster is one of his most playful: a green-haired mermaid reaches up from the bow of a brightly painted Portuguese fishing boat, beside a spinning windmill sail rendered as a wheel of sunburst color. "PORTUGAL" is set in big blue capitals with a red "Fly TWA" tucked beside. Klein (1918–2005) was the artist behind TWA's best-known destination posters, and his later work moved toward this looser, more decorative style.
