Washed in sunshine yellow, this poster shows Acapulco as American Airlines wanted travelers to imagine it: palms along the shore and sailboats gliding across the bay under a cloudless sky. It belongs to American's "Endless Summer" campaign of the early 1970s, which used warm, saturated color to promise year-round sun at the airline's resort destinations, from Mexico's Pacific coast to the Caribbean. Acapulco was then at the height of its fame as a jet-set beach town. The artist of this design is not recorded.
