This little seal from American Airlines sets the carrier's eagle between two red A's inside a navy roundel, ringed with the words of its early business: mail, passengers and express. The cream paper square shows its age, and the design reflects a time when carrying the mail was as important to an airline as carrying people. American Airlines unveiled its famous Flagship service in 1936, and labels like this one were part of the everyday paperwork and luggage dressing of that era.
