"Fly Avianca 747 Jumbo" reads the white headline on this vivid red sticker, above a crisp line drawing of the Boeing 747 in Avianca markings. In 1976 Avianca became the first South American airline to operate the 747 continuously, adding more of the type, including combi aircraft, three years later, and flying 747s into the mid-1990s. The airline traces its history to SCADTA, founded in Colombia in 1919. Avianca handed out stickers like this to passengers proud to have flown on the jumbo.
