This compact 1949 poster from British European Airways keeps its message simple: an airliner set against a rich gold ground above the words “Fly BEA.” Its small horizontal format suggests use in shop windows, travel agencies or counters rather than on a large billboard. BEA had been created only three years earlier, in 1946, to take over Britain's European and domestic air services, and posters like this helped build awareness of the new national airline. The artist is not recorded on our copy. It is a crisp, confident piece of early BEA branding.
