A blue map of the Irish Sea, crossed by small biplanes, advertises a "Daily service to the Isle of Man" in this restored vintage-style design for Blackpool & West Coast Air Services. The airline was real: founded on 3 April 1933 by Captain John Higgins and two Merseyside businessmen, it leased Squires Gate aerodrome at Blackpool and, after a de Havilland Dragon arrived, began daily flights linking Blackpool, Liverpool and the Isle of Man in July 1933. In 1935 it won the Post Office contract to fly mail from Liverpool to Ronaldsway.
