Ringed in orange and navy, this label shows a twin-engine airliner beneath a figure under the stars, with the slogan 'Making a Neighborhood of the Northeast' on a ribbon. Boston-Maine Airways was formed by the Boston and Maine Railroad in 1933, and that October Central Vermont Airways, founded by the Central Vermont Railroad, joined it under a single operator with joint timetables and fares. Travelers pasted labels like this on their bags. In November 1940 the carrier was renamed Northeast Airlines.
