A couple stands beneath a glowing "CHICAGO" sign against a dark navy night in this Braniff poster celebrating the city's nightlife. The artist is not recorded. Chicago was one of Braniff's oldest destinations: the airline added it in 1931 as it expanded north from Oklahoma and Texas, and in 1935 Braniff became the first airline to fly from Chicago all the way to the Mexican border. In 1948 Chicago also became the northern starting point of Braniff's new international route to Havana, Panama and Lima.
