Cuban musicians and dancers swing into rhythm against a black ground in this Spanish-language Braniff poster, "Havana - Vuele por Braniff." It dates from the early 1950s and the artist is not recorded. Havana was the first foreign stop on the international route Braniff opened in June 1948, flying from Chicago through Kansas City, Dallas and Houston to Havana, then on to Panama, Guayaquil and Lima. In those pre-revolution years the city drew travelers for its music, nightlife and short hop from the American mainland.
