A long hot-pink strip pairs Braniff's white 'BI' monogram with a bilingual baggage warning: 'Fragile', 'Transportado a riesgo del pasajero' and 'Carried at passenger's risk'. The Spanish wording reflects an airline whose network reached deep into Latin America. The compact BI logo came out of the image overhaul launched after Harding Lawrence became Braniff's president in 1965, when designer Alexander Girard recommended bold single-colour aircraft and a small BI mark. Labels like this were tied to delicate bags at the check-in counter.
