A small white label with a sunny vignette of palm trees, a yellow beach and blue sea sits above 'Riviera Route' in red script and the British Airways name with a red ribbon flourish. It was a promotional sticker for the airline's flights to the Riviera, meant to conjure up sunshine and Mediterranean holidays at a glance. British Airways itself came into being in 1974, and over the following decades it carried successive liveries and logos, from the Union Jack tail of the 1970s to the Landor design unveiled in 1984.
