A biplane climbs above a sea of billowing clouds in this vintage-style poster art for British Continental Airways, a short-lived independent airline of the 1930s. Formed on 15 April 1935, the company flew from Croydon Airport to Brussels, Ostend, Antwerp, Lille and Amsterdam, and with KLM it ran an Amsterdam–Liverpool service calling at Doncaster. Its fleet was all de Havilland, including a Dragon, DH.86 airliners and Dragon Rapides, all of them biplanes. On 1 August 1936 the airline was absorbed into British Airways Ltd. This is a modern design in the vintage manner, and no original artist is recorded.
