A grey-rimmed oval shows a British Midland Airbus A321-200 in profile, painted dark blue with the red-and-blue 'BM' logo on its tail, under the British Midland name. The company traced its roots to 1938 and took the British Midland Airways name in 1964, when it moved to East Midlands Airport near Castle Donington; it later made Heathrow its main hub. It switched to Airbus A319, A320 and A321 jets towards the end of the 1990s, rebranded as bmi in 2001 and flew its last flight under the BD code in October 2012.
