A stylized blue eagle spreads its wings across the top of this Continental Air Lines sticker, framing the CONTINENTAL name above a red banner reading AIR LINES, all set on a white roundel. The two-word "Air Lines" matches the name the carrier took on 8 July 1937, when Varney Speed Lines, formed in 1934, was renamed Continental Air Lines under Robert F. Six. That same year the airline moved its headquarters from El Paso to Denver. Airlines handed out stickers like this for passengers to put on their luggage.
