A gold medallion shows a DC-9 seen from above, encircled by the words CONTINENTAL AIRLINES and DC-9 GOLDEN JET. Golden Jet was the name of Continental's gold-tailed look of the era: the second Golden Jet scheme, worn from 1962 to 1967, appeared on Boeing 707s and 720s, 727s, Viscounts and DC-9-15RCs. From 1967 the airline promoted itself as "The Proud Bird with the Golden Tail". Airlines gave out stickers like this for passengers to put on their luggage.
