This round label from Compañía Cubana de Aviación shows a twin-engine airliner climbing above sunlit clouds, framed by a red ring, with the airline's name set in a sweeping arc across the sky. Cubana traces its roots to 8 October 1929, when it was founded as Compañía Nacional Cubana de Aviación Curtiss. Pan American Airways acquired it in 1932, sold a majority stake to Cuban investors in 1944 and gave up its last shares in 1954. Airlines handed out labels like this one for passengers to put on their luggage.
