Delta Air Lines painted Miami as a waterfront resort in this 1975 poster. A row of hotels lines the shore while sailboats skim across the water in front of them, all rendered with loose, painterly brushwork that gives the scene the shimmer of heat and sea light. The easel-painting style links it with Delta's Denver poster from the same year and its later Germany design. The artist is not recorded on our copy. It captures Miami in the mid-1970s, when the city's beachfront hotels were a magnet for winter-weary travelers from across the airline's network.
