In flowing handwriting the sticker announces Die neue Linie im Land, the new airline in the country, while a dark jet climbs from swooshes in the black, red and gold of the German flag. It suits the moment: in 1992 British Airways took a 49 percent stake in the Friedrichshafen regional carrier Delta Air and relaunched it as Deutsche BA. BA became sole owner in 1997, the airline was renamed dba in 2003, and Air Berlin took it over in 2006.
