Eastern Air Lines sold Florida sunshine for decades, and this poster, dated 1980 in our collection, lets the beach speak for itself. Rather than a painted scene, it uses a photograph of seashells, the kind every visitor gathers along the Gulf and Atlantic shores, paired with the single word Florida and the Eastern name. By this era photography had largely replaced illustration on airline posters, and the quiet, sunny still life captures how much of Eastern's identity was tied to carrying vacationers south to Florida's beaches.
