Two matching round stickers still sit on their original backing sheet, each with a large blue 45, the Garuda Indonesia name and bird symbol, and the line The Airline of Indonesia, Celebrating 45 Years. Garuda counts 26 January 1949 as its founding date, when an Indonesian Airways DC-3 flew from Calcutta to Yangon. The bird symbol with its five curved wing lines came from the 1985 rebranding by Landor Associates, when Garuda Indonesian Airways became Garuda Indonesia. Small stickers like these were given out to travellers for their bags.
