A grinning cartoon jet wearing a pilot's cap bursts out of a navy oval under big red-and-white BOEING 737-400 lettering, with the ICELANDAIR name and blue F logo on its flank. This copy still carries a collector's handwritten pencil note in the corner. Icelandair brought the Boeing 737-400 into its fleet during a renewal between 1989 and 1993, alongside the Boeing 757-200. The airline's story began in 1937 with Flugfelag Akureyrar in northern Iceland.
