This restored, vintage-style design for Imperial Airways promotes travel to Africa. A warm yellow ground sets the scene, with figures and thatched huts in the foreground and an airliner passing overhead, a meeting of an older way of life and the new speed of air travel that many airline posters of the era played upon. Imperial Airways was the British airline of the years between the two world wars, and its posters presented long journeys as an adventure within reach. The art has been cleaned up and re-created for print, keeping its flat colors and bold lettering.
