This slim strip sticker carries the red circular emblem and navy JapanAsia Airways wordmark of a carrier created for one delicate job. Japan Airlines set up Japan Asia Airways on 8 August 1975 as a wholly owned subsidiary so that flights between Japan and Taiwan could resume, after they had been suspended earlier that year following Japan's civil air treaty with the People's Republic of China. JAA began flying to Taipei on 15 September 1975. It operated its last flights on 31 March 2008, when JAL took the routes back under its own name.
