A bold round emblem with a crescent-like swoosh and star sits on a red square, above the words "Lake Central Airlines" repeated six times like a typographic drumbeat. Lake Central began life as Turner Airlines, founded in 1948, and flew from Weir Cook Airport in Indianapolis across the Midwest and East. In 1955 its employees bought 97.5% of the stock, making it the first employee-owned scheduled airline. Lake Central merged into Allegheny Airlines on 1 July 1968.
