A twin-engine propeller airliner banks across a yellow disc ringed in red and green, Bolivia's national colours, above a bold blue L.A.B. and the full name Lloyd Aereo Boliviano. Passengers received stickers like this to decorate their luggage. LAB was founded in 1925 by German-Bolivian residents and based in Cochabamba; that September a single Junkers F13 opened service between Cochabamba and Santa Cruz. Bolivia's first airline flew for more than eight decades before its flights were suspended in 2007.
