The warm, friendly scene presented flying as something for families, and the stewardess as a welcoming host. The design belongs to the airline's fresh start after the war: today's Lufthansa was re-established in the early 1950s and resumed scheduled flights in 1955, and posters like this introduced the new airline, and Germany as a destination, to travelers abroad.
