In pale, wintry tones, an airliner passes over a snow-covered village, reassuring travelers that the airline kept flying after the summer season ended. In the early years of commercial aviation many services were reduced or suspended in the colder months, so year-round flying was a selling point. Deutsche Luft Hansa had been formed in 1926 through the merger of Deutscher Aero Lloyd and Junkers Luftverkehr.
