Big pale-blue numerals spell out "747-400" behind a Malaysia Airlines jumbo in its red and blue kite livery, with "Faster! Non-Stop!" slanting along the bottom. The long-range 747-400 let airlines fly far-flung routes without a stop, and this sticker sold exactly that promise. The national carrier was established in 1972 as Malaysian Airline System when Malaysia-Singapore Airlines split in two, and took the Malaysia Airlines name in October 1987. Airlines handed out stickers like this to passengers for their luggage.
