On this round label the blue winged globe carries the initials PAA on its wing, set against a soft sky with Pan American World Airways in yellow and The System of the Flying Clippers in red script. Pan Am's trademark history records that a winged globe with PAA dates back to 1928, and that in 1944 the globe was redrawn to show Europe, Africa and Asia with PAA on the wing. The winged globe gave way to the plain blue globe in 1958.
