Tall carved wooden figures stand on stylized posts against a cream and brown ground in this "Indonesia" poster issued by Qantas together with BOAC, the British Overseas Airways Corporation, around 1950. Known copies of the design include a wayang shadow-puppet emblem near the title and a faint airliner on the horizon, and credit Qantas "in association with" BOAC and Tasman Empire Airways. The artist is not recorded. The partnership grew out of the prewar Empire route, which Qantas and BOAC's predecessor Imperial Airways flew jointly between Australia and Britain by way of the islands of the Dutch East Indies.
