A gold, stylised winged emblem rises over the letters SILA on a navy disc framed in gold, with "Swedish Intercontinental Airlines" on a navy band below. SILA, Svensk Interkontinental Lufttrafik, was formed in Sweden in 1943 by the banker Marcus Wallenberg Jr. In August 1946 it joined Danish and Norwegian airlines in the consortium that became Scandinavian Airlines System, and the partners merged fully in 1948. Airlines gave out stickers like this for passengers to put on their luggage.
