A bright yellow map of South America comes alive with wildlife and a cigar-shaped airship cruising overhead in this poster celebrating the "Spirit of Adventure." The artist and exact date are not recorded in the sources we checked. The airship recalls a real chapter of aviation history: in the early 1930s the German Graf Zeppelin flew regular passenger services across the South Atlantic between Europe and Brazil, making South America one of the few places in the world that could be reached by scheduled airship. Illustrated maps like this one turned the continent into a playful catalogue of jungles, rivers and exotic animals.
