A bold diagonal splits this round sticker into hot pink and deep navy, with a long-necked bird gliding across the top and a small winged emblem beneath the Trans-Texas Airways name. Route of the Starliners runs around the lower edge, the slogan the airline adopted after it began calling its Douglas DC-3s Starliners in 1949. Trans-Texas was based near Houston's Hobby Airport and grew from DC-3s to Convairs and DC-9 jets before changing its name in 1969 and later merging into Continental Airlines in 1982. Passengers were given stickers like this to put on their suitcases.
