A red airplane bursts out of a radiating sunburst in this vintage-style design for Transadriatica Linee Aeree, announcing a service between Venice and Rome. Transadriatica was founded in Ancona in the mid-1920s by engineer Renato Morandi with his brother Mario, and later flew from the Nicelli airport on the Lido of Venice. During roughly four years of operation it opened a considerable number of routes in Italy and Europe, making it one of the pioneers of Italian commercial aviation. This restored artwork is a modern re-creation; the original artist and date are not recorded.
