Stan Galli (1912-2009) painted this bold 1960 poster for United Air Lines, moving in close on the crowned head of the Statue of Liberty against a radiant field of yellow-gold. Browns and inky blacks model the statue's sculptural planes, and the spikes of the crown become geometric rays. Galli, a San Francisco native, was one of United's most prolific poster artists of the 1950s and early 1960s and later designed more than 25 U.S. postage stamps. By 1960 the airplane had become a new gateway to New York, and Liberty still stood for arrival.
The Gildan 2000, made with 100% U.S. cotton and the latest breakthrough in soft cotton technology, the Gildan Ultra Cotton family has been remastered for improved printability, quality, and comfort you can see and feel.
