Stan Galli (1912-2009), born and raised in San Francisco, painted his hometown's cable cars for United Air Lines in the 1950s, and this close-up in vivid yellow and red puts the viewer right on board with the riders. Galli became one of United's most prolific poster artists, a founding member of the San Francisco Society of Illustrators, and in 1981 an inductee of the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame. The cable cars, first introduced in 1873, were already treasured survivors by the time this poster was printed.
The Gildan 2000, made with 100% U.S. cotton and the latest breakthrough in soft cotton technology, the Gildan Ultra Cotton family has been remastered for improved printability, quality, and comfort you can see and feel.
