Two grinning telephones flank a red banner urging shippers "to expedite your order, call collect" on this charming AAXICO Airlines cargo label, complete with an OLympia 6-5965 phone number and a Cargo Building address at New York's Idlewild Airport. AAXICO - short for American Air Export and Import Company - was incorporated in Florida in 1946 and flew freight with a large fleet of Curtiss C-46 Commandos, much of it for U.S. military contracts. In 1965 it merged into Saturn Airways. A rare piece of air cargo history.
