On a vivid orange disc, a green-and-white shamrock rises above the AER LINGUS name, with a small winged badge and the words "Irish Air Lines" beneath. The combination of green, white and orange echoes the colors of the Irish flag. Aer Lingus was founded in April 1936 and flew its first service from Baldonnel to Bristol that May.
