A bold red disc on a cream square, with AIR CANADA in white capitals above a small white maple-leaf rondelle. The airline began life in 1937 as Trans-Canada Air Lines, a Crown corporation, and on January 1, 1965 it took the name Air Canada, the same day the maple-leaf rondelle first flew on its aircraft. Simple, graphic stickers like this were handed to passengers to put on their luggage, carrying the national carrier's emblem around the world.
