Vintage-style poster art for Air France: an aviator holds an airplane aloft against a radiating sunburst, in the bold manner of interwar Art Deco advertising. This is a modern re-creation, and its date and artist are not recorded. The sunburst echoes the airline's own early posters, such as Edmond Maurus's 1946 "Air France rayonne sur le monde," in which a stylized sun carrying the airline's emblem shines down on a globe. Air France was founded in 1933 and kept its winged seahorse emblem, nicknamed "the shrimp," until 1975.
