Lucien Boucher (1889–1971), best known for his Air France world maps, designed this poster for the airline's Balearic Islands service around 1951. Branches of white blossom frame the view; beyond them lie the cathedral and town of Palma, sailing boats on the sea and hills in the distance, while a plane crosses a deep blue sky. Printed by Perceval in Paris, it carries the Air France winged-seahorse emblem tucked inside the letter C. Boucher worked for Air France from 1934 to 1962, producing posters, flyers and his famous planispheres.
