Lucien Boucher designed this poster in 1937 for Air France's long line from Europe to the Far East. Against a deep red ground, a woman in a conical hat holds a route map tracing the flight from Europe to East Asia, while an airliner passes overhead. Air France had inherited its Asian routes from Air Orient, one of the four airlines merged in 1933 to create the company, and Ernest Roume, who presided over the new company at its 1933 launch, was a former president of Air Orient. A 1989 reproduction of the poster is held in the SFO Museum aviation collection.
