Vincent Guerra designed this 1951 poster for Air France's transatlantic service, splitting the scene between two cities. On one side, elegantly dressed Parisians sit on a sunlit café terrace; on the other, the Statue of Liberty rises in a dreamlike New York sky full of stars, while a Lockheed Constellation flies overhead. It was printed in Paris by Alépée & Cie. The Constellation was the long-range airliner that carried Air France across the Atlantic in the postwar years, and Guerra's bright, clean drawing captures the optimism of those first regular crossings between Paris and New York.
