The small print explains its purpose: a passenger who did not want a meal attached the top half of the label in a prominent spot on the headrest cover, so the cabin crew would let them sleep. Air New Zealand, renamed from Tasman Empire Airways Limited (TEAL) on 1 April 1965, flew long overwater routes where a good sleep mattered.
