A round cream sticker edged in green, lettered Airwork Limited and Britain's leading independent airline around a stylised AW monogram. Airwork was founded on 11 October 1928 by Nigel Norman and Alan Muntz with the opening of Heston Aerodrome outside London. After the war it turned to airline work, flying Handley Page Hermes and Vickers Viking charters largely from Blackbushe, and became the first carrier awarded a troop-flying contract. Its airline operations merged into British United Airways in 1960, which places this sticker before that date. Airlines handed passengers labels like this to stick on their luggage.
