A deep navy roundel ringed with small stars and the words Route of the Starliners, with Alaska Airlines lettered in orange beside a streaking yellow emblem. Starliner was the name Alaska gave its postwar fleet. In 1945, after dropping the Alaska Star Airlines name, the company moved from bush flying into commercial service with surplus wartime Douglas DC-3s, DC-4s and Curtiss C-46s, and the Starliner livery carried on through the 1950s. Passengers were handed stickers like this one to put on their luggage, a little piece of the airline to take home.
